What to expect from the 2026 Mahindra Vision S?
Mahindra showcased the Vision S concept in 2025 at its Freedom_NU event in August. The Vision S, which was anticipated to be the new Bolero Neo, turned out to be a new product.
Mahindra has been testing it on the road for months now, and this new SUV is likely to be launched by late 2026 in India. It is based on the new Freedom NU platform, which has been designed to support various powertrains, including the hybrid, EV, and ICE options.
The Vision S production car will be a monocoque SUV, which will feature an upright design with a boxy silhouette, giving it a mini Defender outlook. The test car has big ORVMs, flared fenders, and big multi-spoke alloy wheels.
Meanwhile, the front has a new vertical slat grille and round LED headlights with a rugged bumper design. At the rear, it features a tailgate-mounted spare wheel and a side-opening tailgate, giving it the proper SUV outlook.
The previously spotted test mules have shown that it will get a modern cabin design with dual connected screens, possibly 12.3 inches in size, along with a dual-pane panoramic sunroof, wireless charging, and a five-seater layout.
The Vision S will remain close to its rugged portfolio, and it is expected to feature an all-new 5-link independent rear suspension to provide a supple ride quality. Powering it will be the 1.5-litre m-Hawk turbo diesel and a 1.2-litre TGDI turbo petrol engine options, both paired with the options of a manual and an automatic gearbox.
The Vision S will be positioned against the new Tata Sierra, and hence it could be priced in the same ballpark. More details are likely to surface in the coming months.
