Mercedes-Benz has taken the cover off the new GLE facelift in the global market. The updated model offers a revised fascia, subtle design updates, and a new cabin layout, along with more customisation options. Read all its details below.

What is new on the 2026 Mercedes-Benz GLE facelift?
Cosmetic updates
The new 2026 GLE facelift comes loaded with a redesigned front shape. It now features an all-new grille with chrome highlights and an optional illuminated logo. The trademark Digital Lights headlights have been added as well, offering the twin-star LED DRLs incorporated inside.
Other updates include the new bumpers, new alloy wheel design options, and new exterior colours. Mercedes is also offering the Manufaktur customisation program, which includes exclusive colours and other cosmetic customisation options. The SUV is dimensionally unchanged.
On the inside, it now features a new dashboard with the ‘Superscreen’ setup that embeds a 12.3-inch triple-screen display, latest MB.OS software offering OTA (over-the-air) updates, AI-assisted voice commands, and wireless connectivity. The steering wheel has also been updated with a new design, offering physical buttons.
The AMG-spec GLE has also received numerous changes, including the new bumpers, larger air dams for improved performance, new AMG alloy wheels, new colour options, and other AMG-specific design cues. The AMG-spec GLE is offered in Coupe styling with a sloping roofline.
Engine specs
Under the bonnet, the new GLE offers the following options:
- GLE 350 4MATIC: 2.0L, four-cylinder, 48V mild-hybrid petrol engine, 255 bhp/400 Nm
- GLE 450 4MATIC: 3.0L, inline-six turbo petrol engine, 376 bhp/560 Nm
- GLE 500e 4MATIC (replaces the 450e variant): 3.0L, inline-six turbo petrol engine, plug-in hybrid, 429 bhp/681 Nm
- AMG GLE 53 PHEV Hybrid: 3.0L, inline-six turbo petrol engine, plug-in hybrid, 181 bhp electric motor, 577 bhp/750 Nm
India launch details
The updated GLE facelift is expected to arrive in India in the coming months. It will be priced slightly higher than the current GLE, which is currently priced at Rs 96.40 lakh.
