Mercedes-Benz has revealed the facelifted GLS full-size SUV for the global market. The updated model receives subtle cosmetic and feature upgrades, including revised engine performance and more efficiency. Check out its complete details below.

New exterior design
The new GLS facelift has been unveiled, and it looks more elegant and premium than before. For 2026, Mercedes has given the GLS a new front fascia design with the new wraparound Digital Lights that feature the dual star LED DRLs.
The new grille features the supreme chrome detailing along with illuminated surrounds and an illuminated Mercedes logo, the latter of which is optional for certain markets. Other updates include the revised bumpers and new 21- or 22-inch AMG alloy wheel options. The rear now features a new set of tri-star LED lights and a piano black connecting highlight.
Two new exterior colours have also been added: Dark Petrol Flat and Patagonia Red Metallic.
Updated interior and features
On the inside, it features the latest ‘Superscreen’ 12.3-inch triple screen setup on the dashboard. The interior theme has also been updated with the new Beech Brown colour that is paired with Artico/Laguna leather upholstery.
Meanwhile, the wide range of custom options via the Mercedes-Benz Manufaktur program is still available. The new trim options are also offered, which include the open-pore birch wood/walnut and aluminium highlights.
The updated dashboard also features the new circular air vents, while the seats get distinct stitching and graphics. The steering wheel has also been updated with a new metallic dial and a rocker switch.

- Digital key
- Augmented reality HUD
- Digital in-car payment (Mercedes pay+)
- 11.6-inch rear individual entertainment screens
- Energizing Comfort feature
The Energeizing Comfort feature automatically changes the seat settings, massage function, climate control, sound system, ambient lighting, and other details like curtains, so that the rear passengers can enjoy the best of luxury.
Mercedes also claims to have improved the NVH levels of the new GLS facelift.
Engine specs updates
The 2026 GLS has also received an update to its engine specs. The diesel engines have received lighter aluminium cylinder heads and crankcases, which have improved the acceleration and made the engine lighter and more efficient.
The new GLS is available in the following engine options:
Petrol options
- GLS 450 4MATIC using a 3.0-litre six-cylinder turbo petrol developing 60Nm more torque
- GLS 580 4MATIC using an V8 engine, 537bhp/750Nm
Diesel options
- GLS 350d and GLS 450d
The updated 2026 GLS facelift is expected to launch in India in the coming months. The current model is priced at Rs 1.28 crore, and the facelift will be positioned above this mark.
