2026 Renault Kwid facelift: Everything we know so far
The Kwid hatchback has been on sale in select markets, including India. Renault has now pulled up its sleeves to give its little, affordable hatchback a mid-life update before deciding its fate.
The latest spotting of a semi-camouflaged test car shows us a white colour test model that has a new front and rear design update. Although covered, the front design seems to have a new grille, a new bumper, and updated headlamp cowl and positioning.
Meanwhile, the side shot reveals that not much is going to change on the overall design, save for the new wheel caps. The rear also has a similar layout as the current model, but the covered taillights hint that the facelifted model will get new taillights – possibly LED.
Other design details of the updated Kwid are similar to the current model. While its interiors were not snapped, we believe that the cabin will also get mild updates like a new digital driver console, a bigger touchscreen, a new cabin theme, and more.
Powering the updated Kwid hatchback is going to be the current 1.0-litre, three-cylinder, naturally-aspirated petrol motor. This engine develops 65 bhp and 96 Nm of power and torque. It is paired with a 5-speed manual and a 5-speed AMT gearbox options on the current model, which we believe will remain unaltered on the facelift as well.
As far as the launch timeline is concered, industry expectations suggest that it will be launch in 2027 in the Latin American markets first, and later introduced in India. As of now, the brand has not officially revealed any plans of new-gen Kwid for India.
