Volkswagen has announced that it will launch the facelifted Taigun on April 9 in India. The updated SUV will feature a subtle design and cabin feature upgrades. Read below on what to expect from the Taigun facelift launch.

What to expect from the 2026 Volkswagen Taigun facelift?

Design updates

On the exterior front, the new Taigun facelift will add a redesigned front fascia with reworked LED headlights, a new illuminated grille, an illuminated VW logo, and a new bumper. The side profile will remain largely unchanged, save for the new R17 alloy wheels. Similarly, the rear design will feature a set of connected LED taillights, an illuminated VW logo, and a new bumper.

Interior updates

On the inside, it is likely to feature a redesigned dashboard with a bigger infotainment screen, a new digital instrument cluster, a new centre console design, and a new cabin theme for certain variants. Overall, the key highlights will include features like a panoramic sunroof, ventilated seats, massaging seats (optional), wireless charging, and more.

Engine specs

The updated Taigun facelift will not feature any big mechanical upgrades, save for the introduction of a new 8-speed torque converter automatic transmission, which will replace the current 6-speed torque converter on the 1.0-litre TSI engine option. The 1.5-litre TSI engine will remain paired to the DQ200 7-speed DSG transmission.

What will it miss out on?

The updated Taigun will miss out on the ADAS safety features and a 360-degree camera, which will put it behind the rest of the rivals in its category.

Price expectation and rivals

The new Taigun facelift is likely to be positioned Rs 10,000-20,000 higher than the current model, whose range starts at Rs 11.74 lakh (ex-showroom). The primary rivals of the Taigun facelift will be the new Skoda Kushaq facelift, Hyundai Creta, Toyota Hyryder, and Maruti Grand Vitara.
