What to expect from the 2026 Volkswagen Taigun facelift?
The latest teaser image released by Volkswagen has confirmed that the Taigun facelift will be introduced in India on April 9. The teaser image also shows the side profile silhouette of the updated SUV, which reveals interesting details.
By looking closely, we can spot the reworked, sharper LED lights. The headlights and the front bumper are new, and the previous spy shots have also showcased the same.
We suspect that it will feature a new connected LED lightbar, a new grille, and an illuminated VW logo at the rear. Additionally, a connected LED taillight setup along the reworked lettering and an illuminated logo will be equipped at the back of the new Taigun.
Considering that the Skoda Kushaq facelift went through almost no dimensional change, we can safely assume the same for the Taigun facelift. Meanwhile, the cabin design is likely to feature a bigger digital driver console with new UI, a new infotainment screen, a redesigned centre console, and new features like the panoramic sunroof.
VW has already confirmed that the current platform of the Taigun/Kushaq is not compatible with the ADAS module, thus features like 360-degree camera and autonomous safety equipment will be missed out on the Taigun facelift.
Mechanically, Volkswagen will replace the 6-speed AISIN-sourced torque converter automatic gearbox with a new 8-speed automatic transmission on the 1.0 TSI engine. Meanwhile, the 1.5 TSI will continue to be offered as it is.
The new Taigun facelift is likely to be priced slightly higher than the current model. It will compete with the Hyundai Creta, Maruti Grand Vitara, and the Toyota Hyryder.
