Hero MotoCorp has given the Xtreme 160R 4V a 2025 refresh, and the headline is wild: cruise control on a 160cc motorcycle. First seen on the Glamour X, the feature has now made its way here, making the Xtreme the first in its class to pack it. Operated through new switchgear and displayed on a redesigned LCD console (borrowed from the Karizma XMR and Xtreme 250R)
What’s changed?
The updates aren’t skin-deep. Here’s what’s new:
- Cruise control toggle on the right-hand switchgear
- New LCD console with Bluetooth, turn-by-turn navigation, and ABS modes
- USB Type-C charging port
- Ride-by-wire throttle (to make cruise control possible)
- Multiple ABS modes
On the styling front, the headlamp housing gets a projector setup with relocated indicators, while the tank shrouds now wear fresh graphics. The Combat Edition shown at the event carried the full feature list.
What stays the same
The bike keeps its tried-and-tested setup:
- 163.2cc, single-cylinder, oil-cooled 4-valve motor (16.9 PS, 14.6 Nm)
- 5-speed gearbox
- USD forks at the front, monoshock at the rear
- Dual-disc brakes with dual-channel ABS
No change in the fundamentals—just more tech layered on.
Rivals and positioning
The Xtreme 160R 4V continues its fight against the TVS Apache RTR 160 4V and Bajaj Pulsar NS160, both of which have stepped up their game with TFT screens and added electronics. But Hero has gone left field with cruise control, giving the Xtreme a unique hook. Expect pricing to nudge past the current INR 1.30 lakh (ex-showroom).
