TVS Motor Company has launched the Orbiter electric scooter in Maharashtra. Priced at INR 94,900 (ex-showroom Mumbai), the Orbiter packs a long list of segment-first features aimed at redefining urban commuting. With a 158 km IDC range, cruise control, and a 34-litre boot that swallows two helmets, this scooter is clearly built for real-world practicality.
The Orbiter is powered by a 3.1 kWh battery and comes with dual riding modes—Eco and Power—plus regenerative braking. TVS says the aerodynamic design improves range and stability, while the 14-inch front wheel (an industry-first) boosts ride comfort and control.
Design and comfort: built for the daily grind
TVS has nailed the basics. The Orbiter gets a straight-line 290 mm footboard, a long 845 mm flatform seat, and 169 mm ground clearance. The upright handlebar and wide stance make it easy to ride, even in traffic chaos. The under-seat storage is a generous 34 litres—finally, a scooter that doesn’t ask you to choose between groceries and a helmet.
The LED headlamp with integrated indicators, edge-to-edge combination lights, and a front visor add visual flair. It’s available in six colours: Neon Sunburst, Stratos Blue, Lunar Grey, Stellar Silver, Cosmic Titanium, and Martian Copper.
Tech and connectivity: smarter than your average scooter
The coloured LCD cluster displays incoming calls, SMS alerts, and navigation prompts. The mobile app lets you check battery status, track location, and even set geo-fencing and time-fencing alerts.
Safety features include crash and fall alerts, anti-theft notifications, towing alerts, and hill hold assist. Cruise control and parking assist round out the package. OTA updates ensure the scooter stays current without a trip to the service centre.
