Honda WN7 battery, range, specs revealed
The new WN7 electric bike from Honda is an evolutionary product for the brand as it is its first-ever electric motorcycle. The WN7 is now available in Europe, and Honda plans to launch it in the global markets in a phased manner.
The neo-retro design of the WN7 is complemented by its 9.3 kWh battery pack, which is further mated to the options of two electric motors – 11 kW and 18 kW. These two motors allows the bike to get the A1 and A2 licenses in Europe, which are mandatory for sales.
As per the technical specs, the WN7 with the 11 kW electric motor can cover up to 153 km, while the 18 kW variant is rated at 140 km of range. The 11 kW version offers 15 bhp of peak power, while the 18 kW version offers 67 bhp. The claimed top speed of the 18 kW variant is 129 km/h.
The WN7 supports the AC-type wall charging at home, and the CCS2-type fast charging that is seen on the electric cars. It also offers three riding modes – eco, normal, and sport, along the three regen modes that can be selected on the go via the toggle switch on the left side switchgear.
The features list includes a 5-inch TFT display with the smartphone connectivity, including the options like navigation and more. It also has the six-axis IMU that offers the cornering ABS and other safety features.
Honda has no plans of introducing the WN7 in India in the recent times. However, if it becomes popular overseas, the WN7 could become a good EV to establish the future electric portfolio in India for Honda.
