Tata Harrier Petrol and Safari Petrol engine specs details
Powering the Harrier and Safari petrol iterations is the new 1.5-litre, four-cylinder, turbo petrol engine that the brand calls ‘Hyperion’. This engine is the same as the Sierra’s, but it is offered in a higher state of tune.
While the same engine makes 158 bhp and 255 Nm in the Sierra, it offers 168 bhp and 280 Nm in the Harrier and Safari. Although both models are FWD only, they do get the options of a 6-speed manual and an AISIN-sourced 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox.
Interestingly, the brand has not revealed the prices of the petrol Harrier and Safari. This might be due to the upcoming launch of the Mahindra XUV 7XO, which is likely to undercut the prices and offer more features than the Harrier and Safari petrol.
However, our expectations suggest that the petrol variants of Harrier and Safari will be at least Rs 1-1.5 lakh cheaper than their diesel-equivalent variants.
