Mahindra’s star SUV, Thar, has been spied recently in Ooty with the refreshed design and interior updates during a test run. Read below for more details about the Thar facelift.

What to expect from the Mahindra Thar facelift?
The new Thar facelift has been spied once again in the same red colour as it was previously seen in Chennai. The test mule was seen on the roads of Ooty, where it is possibly testing the ghat-section roads and other critical aspects of the mechanical setup.
Speaking of what’s visible, the slightly camouflaged panels show that it is equipped with the new LED projector headlights, a new front grille, a revised front and rear bumper, new LED foglights, and new alloy wheels. Interestingly, the visual changes look similar to the Thar 5-Door, aka Thar Roxx.
While we do not expect any mechanical changes, it might get a refreshed interior theme with more plush cabin features, possibly including new leather upholstery on the top-spec trims. However, Mahindra gave Thar a mild update in early 2025, where it got the new features and an updated infotainment screen. The facelift will add more features to the 2025 Thar.
Speaking of the expected launch timeline, Mahindra could introduce the Thar facelift by the festive season of 2026 with slightly hiked rates.
