The latest press release of Honda states that the Japanese brand has officially decided to participate in the Indian off-road motorsport events in the future. The brand will participate via its official factory teams in various events, which are yet to be revealed.
While the exact events are unknown, we firmly believe that Honda will enter the Indian National Rally Championship (INRC), National Motocross Championship (NMC), and possibly the Supercross Racing League (SRL), the latter of which it might provide support to the participating teams.
Honda has been actively working on the rider development programmes in India. The brand has a history of motorsports, and it has previously launched the One Make Championship in India. In fact, the brand has also participated in the INRC previously.
Speaking of the motorcycles, the brand is also expected to launch the CRF300 Rally. Honda has already conducted a private event for the test rides of the CRF300 Rally in India, which was intended to receive feedback from the Indian off-road racers to check the viability of the motorcycle for the motocross events.
