2026 Honda NX500 with E-Clutch launched in India at Rs 7.44 lakh

Key Highlights

  • Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India has launched the NX500 with E-Clutch technology at Rs 7,43,900 (ex-showroom, all India).
  • This is Rs 1.11 lakh more than the outgoing conventional clutch version.
  • Bookings are open at Honda BigWing dealerships.

The Honda NX500 has just become a more interesting proposition, and a more expensive one. HMSI has launched the 2026 NX500 equipped with its E-Clutch technology at Rs 7,43,900, making it the most accessible Honda in India to carry this system, after the CB650R and CBR650R.

What’s new?

The E-Clutch is not a DCT and it is not an automatic. It uses a pair of electronic actuators to manage clutch engagement during starts, gear shifts, and stops. You still use the gear lever normally. The system handles the clutch. The conventional clutch lever is still there, and you can take over manually at any point. The system reactivates within a second of resuming manual control. For anyone who spends time in Indian city traffic, the appeal is immediate.

What hasn’t changed

Everything else about the NX500 stays exactly the same. The 471cc liquid-cooled parallel-twin produces 46 BHP at 8,500 rpm and 43 Nm at 6,500 rpm, paired with a 6-speed gearbox. The Showa SFF-BP USD fork and preload-adjustable rear monoshock carry over unchanged. So do the 19-inch front and 17-inch rear wheels, dual 296mm front discs with Nissin radial calipers, 240mm rear disc, and dual-channel ABS. The E-Clutch hardware adds just 3 kg, bringing kerb weight to 199 kg.

Features

Features include a 5-inch TFT display with Honda RoadSync connectivity, Honda Selectable Torque Control, and full LED lighting. Two new colour options are available: Pearl Horizon White with light blue and purple graphics, and Mat Gunpowder Black Metallic with blue-grey fairing and orange accents.

At Rs 7.44 lakh, the NX500 E-Clutch sits well above the BMW F 450 GS Trophy at Rs 5.30 lakh, which also offers an auto-clutch system. That pricing gap is hard to ignore, and buyers considering the NX500 will need to weigh Honda’s reliability and refinement credentials against that difference.
