Skoda’s upcoming sporty version of the Kodiaq has been officially revealed in India. The new Kodiaq RS will be launched soon as a CBU model, and Skoda will only sell a handful of 50 units pan-India.
With the addition of the ‘RS’ badge, the new Kodiaq RS will offer a sporty profile with the new sporty bumpers, a new black grille with the RS badge, black mirrors, a large roof-mounted spoiler, dual exhaust tips, and 20-inch RS-spec alloy wheels with low-profile tyres. Skoda will offer the Kodiaq RS in four colours: Velvet Red, Steel Grey, Moon White, and Magic Black.
On the inside, it will get an all-black cabin draped in leather upholstery with red stitching, an RS-spec steering wheel, aluminium race pedals, an RS badge on the seats, door sills, and floor mats, red highlights on the dashboard and door panels, and new graphics for the 10.25-inch digital driver console. Other key features will include the 12.9-inch floating infotainment screen, 9 airbags, a 10-speaker Canton sound system with a subwoofer, Level 2 ADAS, and more.
Powering the Kodiaq RS will be the 2.0-litre TSI engine sourced from the Octavia RS. This engine offers 265 bhp and 400 Nm of power and torque, respectively. The torque output on the Kodiaq RS is 30 Nm more than the Octavia RS. Meanwhile, it will come equipped with the DCC Plus (dynamic chassis control) system and the adaptive suspension that can be altered up to 15 different levels of damping. Skoda offers various drive modes on the Kodiaq RS: Eco, Comfort, Normal, Sport, Individual, Snow, and Off-Road.
The official price of the Kodiaq RS will be announced in the coming days. It will be sold as a CBU, hence we assume that it will be steeply priced like the Octavia RS was positioned.
