- Maruti is likely to launch it in India as the XL6
- New model features mild cosmetic tweaks
Suzuki has revealed the official image of the upcoming XL7 facelifted MPV in the global market. The new updated MPV will be revealed on July 29 at GIIAS 2026 in Indonesia. The latest online rumours suggest that Maruti Suzuki will bring the updated XL7 as the new XL6 facelift in India later this year.
What to expect from the new Suzuki XL7 facelift?
The XL7 facelift was recently revealed from the front. It will be a mid-life makeover of the MPV, featuring mild cosmetic tweaks. The front fascia now boasts a new chrome grille with horizontal slats, a redesigned nose with black highlights, new LED headlights, and new foglight inserts.
The side and rear design of the XL7 facelift will remain mostly unchanged, save for the new dual-tone R17 alloys, smoked-out LED taillights, and a redesigned rear bumper. On the inside, we believe Suzuki will add new features like a bigger 10.1-inch infotainment screen, a new digital instrument console, an improved 360-degree camera, a head-up display unit, electric front seats, a wireless charging pad, and more.
Mechanically, the XL7 facelift will retain the 1.5-litre K15C naturally aspirated petrol motor that makes 103 bhp and 134 Nm. It is paired with a 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox in the international market.
Why will the XL7 facelift be launched as XL6 in India?
The XL7 and XL6 are essentially the same cars. The only difference between them is the seating layout. While the XL7 is a seven-seater, the XL6 is offered as a six-seater in India with three-row captain seats.
Hence, the new XL7 facelift makes perfect sense for the Indian market. Maruti will not have to alter anything, and it can update the XL6 nameplate as well, which has been long overdue for a long time.
The XL6 facelift will feature the same design and technology upgrades as the XL7 facelift in Indonesia. However, the Indian market gets the 5-speed manual and CNG gearbox and powertrain options in addition to the 6-speed AT gearbox.
The updated XL6 facelift could launch in India by the end of this year. The new updates are likely to increase the price of the MPV slightly.
