Mahindra plans to introduce its first NU_IQ platform-based SUV, internally called Vision S, later this year. As we approach its debut timeline, more and more sightings of the test mules keep surfacing. The latest sighting has gone viral on the internet, as it shows the production-spec front design of the new compact SUV.
What to expect from the 2026 Mahindra Vision S?
The latest spy video captures the Defender-inspired styling of the SUV. Although the test car is camouflaged, its front-end design seems to be ready for production. The SUV features the big C-shaped daytime running LED lights that enclose vertically stacked LED projector headlights.
Moreover, the front grille gets the wide vertical slats with a ‘Teeth-like’ design. The bumper is also rugged with a slim lower grille, a scuff plate, and LED foglights positioned lower. The test mule of the SUV features a rugged body cladding, five-spoke alloy wheels, and an upright stance with a boxy profile.
The overall design of the SUV will boast futuristic elements like the vertical LED taillights, sharp alloy wheel design, etc, while the design elements like a tailgate-mounted spare wheel, big greenhouse, and Defender-like side mirrors will focus on heritage SUV design.
On the inside, the production-spec model will debut a new vertical dashboard, a new three-spoke steering wheel, vertical AC vents, and a triple-connected screen display. Other features are likely to include a panoramic sunroof, dual-zone climate control, wireless charging, ambient lighting, and more. We can also spot the front radar behind the interior rear-view mirror, which also solidifies that it will get ADAS safety features.
Powering the Vision S is most likely to be the XUV 3XO-sourced 1.2-litre TGDI turbo petrol engine and the 1.5-litre turbo diesel engine. These will be offered with manual and automatic gearbox options, and the Vision S is most likely to be a FWD SUV. Although the possibility of Mahindra offering an AWD can not be denied.
Mahindra is expected to launch the production version next year in India. It will be positioned between the Bolero Neo and Scorpio N, with an estimated price range of Rs 9-15 lakh.
