Mahindra is all set for a grand Annual Independence Day event on August 14, 2026. The upcoming event will be a global launchpad for the upcoming models. One such model will be the Scorpio Classic, which is set to receive a mild mid-life update in terms of new features.

2026 Mahindra Scorpio Classic: What to expect?

2026 Mahindra Scorpio Classic

The Scorpio Classic remains one of the best-selling Mahindra SUVs in India. While its sales figures remain consistently strong, Mahindra is all set to launch a new mid-life update for the SUV at its upcoming Independence Day event.

The new model has been leaked online, showing the new design and exterior features. The front now features a redesigned grille with seven slats that have chrome highlights and a new mesh back grille.

The front bumper has also been redesigned with a new skid plate. The LED daytime running strips have also been replaced with the new chrome highlights.

Another big upgrade will be the addition of a new electric sunroof. Although not panoramic, the new sunroof will elevate the interior experience for the passengers, who would often feel left out in the current model, which misses out on this feature.

Meanwhile, the overall design silhouette and dimensions look unchanged. The side profile is also unaltered, save for the new five-spoke alloy wheels. At the rear, one can spot the slightly redesigned LED taillights.

The leaked photos do not shed light on the interior updates, but we can safely assume that Mahindra will add new features like a new infotainment screen, wireless smartphone features, a new dual-tone theme, etc.

2026 Mahindra Scorpio Classic Rear

Mechanically, the Scorpio Classic will continue offering the 2.2-litre m-Hawk turbo diesel engine with the 6-speed manual gearbox and an RWD configuration. It is highly unlikely that Mahindra will alter it mechanically, as the SUV is already nearing the end of its lifecycle.

The new feature updates are likely to affect the prices by a marginal amount. For reference, the current model is priced at Rs 13.37-17.40 lakh (ex-showroom).
