- Could be positioned below the Xpulse 210

A latest design patent has leaked online, hinting at a new upcoming Hero MotoCorp lightweight dual-sport motorcycle. The bike features the same underpinnings as the Xpulse, with the overall bodywork, stance and visible hardware taking shape from the Xpulse.
New Hero ADV bike patented: What to expect?
The design patent image of this unknown dual-sport bike has created a stir among ADV lovers. The motorcycle features slim bodywork, a single seat, and a low handlebar, and it also boasts a new headlight.
The interesting bit is the long-travel front suspension with a long beak, like the big ADVs. Meanwhile, the tail section features a luggage carrier, which further solidifies that this one will be a dual-sport model.
The semi-sporty riding posture and the low-set handle position hint that this bike could be positioned below the Xpulse. Now there is no confirmation yet, but the online rumours also suggest that this bike could be named Impulse, thus marking the return of the iconic nameplate.
Moreover, a close look reveals an engine that looks similar to the 210cc unit of the Xpulse. It also has an oil cooler, which means that the bike will generate healthy power figures for its weight. Additionally, the motorcycle design patent image shows the spoked rims with disc brakes on both ends and an upswept exhaust design, all reminiscent of the previous-generation Impulse.
Since this one will be a low-cost alternative to the Xpulse 210, we believe that Hero could skip the modern features like a TFT screen, ride modes, etc, to keep the costs in check. However, its lightweight construction is likely to be its USP, as it will make for a good trail bike.
As of now, there are no official details available about its launch timeline or specifications. Hero MotoCorp could reveal this new lightweight ADV in the coming months. If it is launched, expect it to be priced below Rs 2 lakh.
