Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India’s latest product has landed in India. The new XR300L dual-sport lightweight motorcycle is now available via the BigWing showrooms pan-India.
Honda XR300L: Everything to know before buying it
The new XR300L is Honda’s first dual-sport bike for the Indian market. It is based on the brand’s rally pedigree, and hence it packs a slim design with a long beak, a slim single seat, an upright riding posture, and an upswept exhaust system.
The XR300L is a purposeful motorcycle that has been built to tackle soft trails easily and also cruise for long-distance touring. It is powered by the tried-and-tested 293.5cc single-cylinder, oil-cooled engine sourced from the CB300F, which makes 24.5 bhp and 25.9 Nm of power and torque. This engine is paired with a 6-speed gearbox. However, the crux is its lightweight of just 150 kg, which makes it one of the lightest dual-sport bikes in India.
Honda has also equipped the XR300L with modern features like LED lights, a coloured TFT screen with Bluetooth connectivity, SMS and call alerts, etc. Since it is an off-road bike, it gets a switchable rear ABS and traction control system as well.
Speaking of the hardware, the XR300L rides on 21-inch front and 18-inch rear tube-spoke rims and tyres. While tube tyres might not be to everyone’s liking, these do come handy during off-road breakdowns, as these are more sturdy and easy to repair.
With that said, at Rs 1.83 lakh (ex-showroom), the XR300L has been aggressively priced against its competitors like the Hero Xpulse 210 and the Kawasaki KLX230. Honda has commenced bookings, and deliveries are expected to begin shortly.
