Mahindra’s first-ever CNG car has launched in India. The new XUV 3XO ZNG is now available from a starting price of Rs 9.99 lakh (ex-showroom). The CNG version can be had in four variants, including the RevX version.

While the official test drives have begun on October 15, 2026, the pre-bookings will commence on October 20, 2026, and deliveries are slated to begin on October 20, 2026.
Engine specs, performance, mileage
Powering the new XUV 3XO ZNG is the 1.2-litre mStallion three-cylinder turbo engine. This engine has been carried forward from the petrol iteration, and it comes with a CNG-Petrol fuel switch option. Interestingly, Mahindra has managed to keep the power and torque figures unaltered from the petrol version. Hence, the XUV 3XO CNG is now one of the most powerful CNG cars in India, offering 111 bhp and 200 Nm.
Mahindra is offering the XUV 3XO CNG only with a 6-speed manual gearbox. The ARAI-claimed mileage of the XUV 3XO ZNG is 247 km/kg. Moreover, in CNG mode, it can accelerate from 0 to 60 km/h in 4.9 seconds, while 0 to 100 km/h takes 11.8 seconds. Further, it uses the twin-cylinder tech like the Tata Nexon, and the cylinders are mounted under the boot, which offer a completely usable boot space.
Styling and features
Since this is more of a powertrain addition, the XUV 3XO ZNG does not get any special styling upgrade. The only distinguishing factor from the petrol and diesel variants is the presence of the CNG sticker on the front and rear windshield. However, it is also available with the RevX version, which offers a different fascia and more features.
The AX5 variant of the XUV 3XO ZNG comes with features like an electric sunroof, 6-speaker sound system, LED lights, R16 diamond-cut alloys, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, fast charging ports, leather steering wheel and gear knob, and more. Mahindra says that the XUV 3XO ZNG is ready for BNCAP 5-star safety.
