Key highlights
- Norton 450cc bike debut confirmed in November 2026
- It will be based on an all-new single-cylinder engine and platform
- It will be launched in India by late 2027
In an exclusive online report published by Autocar India, it has been revealed that the TVS-backed Norton Motorcycles will soon debut its first 450cc motorcycle. This new model is set to be unveiled at EICMA 2026 in November in Italy.
As per the revealed details, this motorcycle will be a roadster model. It will be powered by an all-new 450cc single-cylinder engine with liquid cooling. This powerhouse is expected to offer around 40-45 bhp of peak power and 40-45 Nm of peak torque.
Norton will not only enter the famous 450cc segment with this bike, but it will also pave the path for TVS to step up its global game. Additionally, this motorcycle will be launched in the global market and the Indian market simultaneously.
The report claims that this 450cc roadster will be manufactured at the Hosur-based TVS production plant, which already houses the BMW Motorrad’s 450cc bikes manufacturing and the upcoming Norton Atlas adventure motorcycle production.
New names trademarked for the Norton 450cc bike?
Not long ago, Norton trademarked three new model names: Roven, Inter, and Avalon. With the confirmation of the 450cc model debut, we anticipate that these models could come to life, offering various formats of the new 450cc platform.
The 450cc platform is also used in international motorsports like the Dakar Rally, where TVS already participates with its 450cc race bikes. While this is purely an assumption, the new 450cc platform could also pave the path for Norton to enter the big motorsports events like the Dakar Rally.
We believe that with the new 450cc platform, Norton is eyeing the global market mainly. Brands like the Royal Enfield and Triumph have done well with their 350-650cc models, which opens the gate for Norton to enter this lucrative segment in the global market.
However, we do not think that a 450cc Norton bike would be able to fetch big sales figures in India. This is primarily due to the Royal Enfield’s monopoly and huge market share. The 350cc segment is already a big deal-breaker for the 450cc bikes, and Norton being a premium brand won’t help in the aggressive pricing either.
With that said, we wait eagerly for the EICMA 2026 that is set to take place in Milan, Italy, in November. The same event is also likely to debut the upcoming Royal Enfield Himalayan 750, which will be the brand’s latest flagship model.
