The talking point about the new X-47 Venom bike is its all-new VX-100 high-voltage platform. The big upgrade that this new architecture offers is substantial weight savings.

For example, the 7.5 kWh battery variant is now 17 kg lighter than before, while the top-spec Recon variant is 13 kg lighter than before despite using a new, bigger SB-11 11 kWh battery pack.

The range has also improved. The base variant now offers a claimed 227 km of range, while the Reckon top variant offers 343 km of range; 20 km more than the previous version.

Meanwhile, the battery, controller, and motor are all lighter now. This helps the bike to cool down faster than before. Additionally, regen and performance have taken a big jump. For example, regen is now available from 99 percent as opposed to 90 percent earlier. On the other hand, Ballistic Mode can now be used until 10 percent battery charge, as opposed to 30 percent previously.

Performance is the area that witnessed a major bump. The Reckon variant can now do 0-100 km/h in just 5.9 seconds, making it 2.2 seconds quicker than before.

Talking of the spec sheet, the bike now produces 40 bhp (0.2 bhp less) and 90 Nm (10 Nm lower) than before. The rear-wheel torque has also gone down to 550 Nm from 610 Nm.

New features and technology added

The new X-47 Venom also brings along new technology and features. The most prominent upgrades include the new 7-inch coloured TFT console that offers a dual dashcam, cruise control, camera-powered parking assist, and onboard navigation. This screen is IP67-rated and offers a waterproof build along with a 35W Type-C charging port.

Sadly, only the top three variants will get these additions. Additional updates include the new four-level traction system and dynamic stability control as standard on the range-topping variants.

Price and availability

The new X-47 Venom will be available in two battery and four variant options. Depending on the colour, variant, and charger size, the price varies from Rs 2.65 lakh to Rs 4.12 lakh (ex-showroom). The variant-wise ex-showroom Bengaluru prices are as follows:
