Kia has updated its Sonet compact SUV with the new, affordable automatic transmission variants, which have now made it accessible by up to Rs 2.25 lakh than ever before. Check out the complete details of these new variants and their prices below.

Kia Sonet new automatic variants details
As the sibling brand, Hyundai has already introduced the new-gen Venue, Kia seems to be facing low sales for the Sonet compact SUV, which is already overdue for a generational change. To keep up the sales figures, the brand has introduced new, affordable automatic variants of the SUV.
Speaking of the details, the Sonet was earlier available in two trims with an AT gearbox for the diesel engine – GTX+ and HTX. Meanwhile, the turbo petrol engine AT was available in three trims – HTX, GTX+, and X-Line.
However, the latest update has now added HTE(O), HTK(O), HTK+, and HTK+(O) trims with automatic transmission for the diesel engine option, and HTK(O) and HTK+(O) automatic transmission trims for the turbo petrol engine option.
The ex-showroom prices of the new diesel automatic gearbox variants are as follows:
- HTE(O) – Rs 9.77 lakh
- HTK(O) – Rs 10.72 lakh
- HTK+ – Rs 11.08 lakh
- HTK+(O) – Rs 11.56 lakh
Meanwhile, the new turbo petrol AT variants are priced ex-showroom as follows:
- HTK(O) – Rs 9.89 lakh
- HTK+(O) – Rs 10.83 lakh
The 1.5L turbo diesel engine option is paired to a 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox, offering 116 bhp and 250 Nm. Meanwhile, the 1.0L turbo petrol engine is paired to a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox, offering 120 bhp and 172 Nm.
