Ferrari 849 Testarossa: Everything you need to know
The all-new 849 Testarossa is now available in India at a staggering price tag of Rs 10.37 crore (ex-showroom). The all-new flagship model replaces the SF90 Stradale with more power, performance, and a touch of retro design.
Powering the 849 Testarossa is a plug-in hybrid 4.0-litre V8 twin-turbo engine. This mid-mounted engine, combined with dual electric motors, offers a whopping output of 1,036 bhp of peak power. With its committed driving modes, the Testarossa can sprint 0-100 km/h in just 2.3 seconds, and it can touch 330 km/h in completely stock form. It can also deliver a pure electric range of 16-25 km.
Speaking of its exterior design, the 849 Testarossa has a low-slung, wide body, carved out of lightweight carbon fibre parts. The front fascia features a 1980s-inspired sleek black-coloured stripe that connects the L-shaped LED headlamps, whilst the bumper has integrated skirts and a diffuser that flows the air towards the ceramic brakes to cool them down.
Additionally, it features the black A-pillar and roof, which merge neatly into the ‘twin-tail’ rear design with active spoilers. The rear design gets the quad, sleek LED taillights, dual exhaust tips, and an active panel between the spoilers that can add up to 100 kg of downforce. Moreover, the engine bay has been covered with an unbreakable glass top.
Step inside, and the first thing to note is the driver-focused cabin design. The high-raised dashboard features a 16-inch digital console, a three-spoke steering wheel that is made out of carbon fibre and wrapped with Alcantara leather, whilst the centre console has a unique F1-styled floating H-shaped gear selector module.
The cabin of the 849 Testarossa has to be one of the most intriguing and driver-focused cabins seen on any of the modern Ferrari cars. Other features include the physical buttons on the steering wheel, including the driving mode and traction control selectors, a 9-inch infotainment screen, a passenger screen, an optional Assetto Fiorano package that adds the lightweight race seats, a 74-litre front trunk or frunk, and wireless charging, along with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
