Maruti Suzuki has officially started exporting its newest premium SUV, Victoris, to global markets. Internationally, the SUV will wear a simpler badge and go by the name Across. The first batch has already sailed out from Mundra and Pipavav ports, marking another important milestone in India’s passenger vehicle export story.
Maruti Suzuki plans to export Victoris to over 100 countries and regions. Key focus markets include Latin America, the Middle East, and Africa. These are regions where buyers value space, reliability, and value for money. Victoris ticks all three boxes without trying too hard.
Maruti Suzuki launched the SUV in India in September 2025. Since then, it has built a strong reputation for its design, features, and safety. The SUV has secured a 5 star safety rating from both Global NCAP and Bharat NCAP. That matters, especially when you plan to sell the same car across continents.
The SUV also had its moment on the international stage. Maruti Suzuki showcased Victoris to a global audience at the Japan Mobility Show 2025. That appearance made it clear that this was not just another India-only product getting an export sticker later. Victoris was designed from day one with global expectations in mind.
Exports are a big deal for Maruti Suzuki right now. In calendar year 2025, the company shipped over 3.9 lakh vehicles overseas. That made it India’s number one passenger vehicle exporter for the fifth year in a row. While the overall industry grew steadily over the last five years, Maruti Suzuki’s exports grew at a much faster pace. Victoris is expected to add more momentum to that growth curve.
For India, this matters beyond brand pride. Every successful export model strengthens the case for Make in India, Make for the World. Victoris going global as Across sends a clear message. Indian-made cars are no longer budget alternatives. They are confident global players.
