Mercedes-Benz V-Class Extra LWB launched at INR 1.40 crore

Key highlights

  • Launched at an introductory price of INR 1.40 crore ex showroom
  • Offered in petrol and diesel with 9G-TRONIC gearbox
  • Extra long wheelbase with AIRMATIC suspension and 6 seat luxury layout

Mercedes-Benz India has launched the all new Mercedes-Benz V-Class Extra LWB at an introductory price of INR 1.40 crore ex showroom. The brand calls it a private suite on wheels.

Extra long

The V-Class now comes only in the extra long wheelbase configuration. It measures 5,370 mm in length with a 3,430 mm wheelbase. That is serious road presence. Width stands at 1,928 mm and height at 1,880 mm.

The layout is a plush 6 seater. The second row gets individual luxury seats with three stage ventilation, massage, calf support and wireless charging. The third row is not an afterthought. It offers ventilated seats as well, which is a segment first. The front seats are electrically adjustable and ventilated.

AIRMATIC meets Indian roads

One big highlight is the AIRMATIC air suspension. Mercedes-Benz has tuned it specifically for Indian conditions. India is also the first market to offer this suspension on both petrol and diesel versions.

This setup adjusts damping automatically. It improves ride comfort over broken roads. It also lowers the vehicle slightly at higher speeds to aid efficiency and stability.

Petrol makes its debut

For the first time, the V-Class gets a petrol engine in India. The 2.0 litre petrol produces 170 kW or 228 bhp and adds a 15 kW mild hybrid boost. The diesel produces 174 kW or 233 bhp.

Both engines pair with the smooth 9G-TRONIC automatic gearbox. Performance numbers are strong for a vehicle of this size. More importantly, power delivery feels effortless.

Lounge like cabin with serious tech

You get 64 colour ambient lighting. The Burmester surround sound system with Dolby Atmos uses 15 speakers and delivers 640 watts of output.

The ENERGIZING Comfort programme offers up to ten wellness modes. It combines lighting, climate control and music to create specific moods.

Safety stays strong. The V-Class gets seven airbags, including window airbags from A to D pillar. Driver assistance tech includes Active Distance Assist DISTRONIC, Active Lane Keeping Assist, Blind Spot Assist and a 360 degree camera.

Built in India, for India

Mercedes-Benz will start local production of the V-Class in India. That signals long term commitment. It also helps keep pricing competitive in a niche segment.

Bookings are open with a INR 5 lakh amount to secure the introductory price. Existing Mercedes customers get priority delivery.
