JSW is all set to mark its debut in the Indian car manufacturing segment with the help of Chery. The collab’s upcoming product includes the iCar V23 EV, which has been recently spied. Read below on what to expect from it.

What to expect from the JSW-Chery iCar V23?
The upcoming iCar V23 electric SUV was recently spied testing near Ujjain, MP. The V23 is a popular EV in China and the Middle East region due to its boxy design and a feature-rich cabin.
JSW is planning to debut in India later this year as a car manufacturer. For this, the brand has tied up with Chery, a Chinese car giant, which will supply cars to JSW, while the latter will rebadge these models as per the Indian market.
One such model is the V23 EV, which boasts a mid-size 5-seater design that resembles the G-Wagon to an extent. The test car seen in the spy shots has complete camouflage, but we can spot the tailgate-mounted spare wheel, boxy bumpers with taillight embedded in the rear bumper, and steel wheels, all indicating that the prototype is still far from launch.
While JSW is yet to reveal the exact launch timeline of its first car, which will be a badge-engineered Chery Jetour T2 PHEV, the following model launch will be the iCar V23. Internationally, it is sold with battery packs ranging from 47 kWh to 80 kWh, with FWD and AWD options and a CLTC-claimed range of more than 500 km.
We suspect that it will be positioned against the Tata Harrier EV, and it is likely to be priced around Rs 25 lakh. Currently, JSW is facing import approval issues, which has delayed the debut timeline of the brand, which was earlier scheduled for mid-2026.
