2026 Honda Rebel 300 E-Clutch explained
The new Rebel 300 cruiser now gets Honda’s trademark E-Clutch system. This system enables the rider to manually change the gears without operating the clutch lever. It can be understood as an AMT gearbox for motorcycles, something which we see on the Maruti cars. However, its functioning is different.
Unlike the AMT gearbox in cars, Honda riders do not get a button to shift between the manual and auto modes. In fact, the transmission and the actuator unit itself are smart enough to understand the need of the rider and enable the clutchless shifting as per the conditions. This is mainly helpful in city riding conditions, especially in bumper-to-bumper traffic.
Honda has earlier added the E-Clutch to its 650cc motorcycles in the US. But now it has made it to the Rebel 300 as well. The Rebel 300 is a small cruiser that offers ra elaxed, laid-back riding style. It is equipped with a 286cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine that offers 24 bhp and 23.86 Nm of power and torque. It is mated to a 6-speed transmission.
Along with the E-Clutch, the new Rebel 300 gets updated colourways and a host of touring accessories. Sadly, it is not going to be launched in India anytime soon.
