Mercedes-Benz has officially introduced the CLA EV in India. It will replace the A-Class, EQA, and EQB models in the Indian market. Check out its complete details below.

Design
The new CLA EV is based on the Mercedes Modular Architecture (MMA), and it is the first model to introduce the new platform. It is 30 mm longer, 25 mm wider, and higher than the outgoing model.
With the bigger dimensions, it also features the latest design language of the company, which includes the sloping roofline and smooth body panels that provide it a coefficient of drag of just 0.21 Cd, making it one of the most aerodynamic EVs on sale.
The front fascia features a set of connected LED headlights with an illuminated grille that has multiple stars embedded into it. The lower portion of the bumper gets the sharp air dams, which further improve the efficiency and performance.
The rear design is inspired by the concept EV model of the car, as it features a ducktail design with a set of connected taillights and an upright bumper, giving it a sportscar-like look. Mercedes will offer the CLA EV in the AMG guise as standard in India, hence it features the 18-inch AMG rims and a raised suspension to tackle the Indian roads.
Interior and features
Inside the cabin, it is equipped with a vertical dashboard that has been inspired by the old-gen initial Mercedes cars. The good thing is that it does not include the triple screen design; it offers a 14-inch infotainment and a 10.25-inch digital driver console.
The third screen for the passenger has been replaced by the illuminated panel with stars lit up on a black background. Other highlights include the AMG-spec three-spoke steering wheel with the physical buttons for the ADAS and media controls.
In terms of features, it is equipped with the latest MB.OS software that features the OTA or over-the-air updates, 100W three type-C charging ports, wireless charging pad, drive modes, traction modes, regen modes, electric seats with ventilation and heating, panoramic sunroof, mood lights, dual-zone AC, and more.
On the safety front, it gets the latest set of Mercedes ADAS features that include the adaptive cruise control, 360-degree monitoring, auto-emergency braking, e-parking brake, lane departure and keep assist, blind spot alert and intervention, pedestrian emergency braking, augmented reality HUD, and more.
Battery specs, performance, and range
The CLA EV is equipped with an 85kWh battery pack that offers 272 bhp of power and offers a claimed range of 792 km on a full charge. Moreover, it supports DC charging of up to 240kW, which can add 400 km of range in just 20 minutes. It can sprint 0-100 km/h in just 6.7 seconds, making it one of the fastest EVs in the segment.
India launch and price
Mercedes will begin accepting orders for the CLA EV on March 10. The CLA EV will be positioned as the most affordable EV of the brand, hence we suspect it to be priced around Rs 50-60 lakh.
