Toyota Fortuner Leader Edition: Everything to know before buying it

The new Fortuner Leader Edition will be available for pre-bookings from October 12, 2026. The Japanese carmaker has introduced the Leader Edition in two versions, with their ex-showroom price as follows:

  • 4X2 Manual – Rs 36.51 lakh
  • 4X2 Automatic – Rs 38.72 lakh

It is interesting to note that the Leader Edition is only available with a 4X2 drivetrain, and the automatic gearbox commands a massive Rs 2.21 lakh premium over the manual version. Toyota has not disclosed the powertrain changes, but we can safely say that the Leader Edition Fortuner only gets cosmetic changes and new features.

Speaking of the exterior changes, it features a contrasting black-coloured roof, mirrors, and black alloy wheels. There are no other changes to differentiate it from the standard model. Customers get a choice of three colourways: Super White, Platinum Pearl White, and Attitude Black.

Step inside, and the Fortuner Leader Edition welcomes you with a new dual-tone interior theme that features a maroon and black combination of leather upholstery and trim parts. There is also new LED ambient lighting and new illuminated scuff plates that feature the Leader branding. Additionally, it packs auto-folding mirrors and a new tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS).

With that said, once the pre-bookings start, Toyota is expected to commence deliveries of the Fortuner Leader Edition ahead of the upcoming festive season.
