2026 Toyota Hilux: What to expect?
The new-gen Hilux is suspected to be based on a new ladder-frame chassis that is specifically designed for 4X4 utility and lightweight performance. The new-gen model test mule was recently spotted at a fuel station in Latin America.
On the outside, it will feature a reworked front design with an upright outlook, featuring a new set of sleek, sharp LED headlights, a big front grille, and a new bumper with skid plate. The test mule seen in the photos is a double-cab version, which is likely to be launched in India as well.
The rear-end design, although heavily camouflaged, shows the revised shape and dimensions of the flatbed and the new, wider wheel arches and fender flares to accommodate better off-roading.
Speaking of the interiors, a recently leaked image shows that it will get a new dashbaord with a new outlook. The red coloured dashboard design leaked online, shows the new infotainment screen, new cubby holes in front of AC vents, and a new digital console cutout.
The new interior design falls in line of the new 2025 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid, which was recently launched internationally. It will also get new features, including ambient lights, wireless charging, console navigation, drive modes, and more.
Online reports also suggest that the 2026 Hilux will get an all-new 2.8-litre turbo petrol hybrid engine with a 48V motor. This engine will replace the current 2.7-litre petrol and the 2.4-litre diesel options globally.
