What is new on the 2026 Yamaha Tenere 700 World Raid?

For starters, the new Tenere 700 World Raid continues to look the same. However, the biggest change is in terms of ergonomics, comfort, balance, and ride control.

To achieve this, Yamaha has improved the 689cc parallel-twin engine with Euro5 emission norms. Thus, it now gets a bigger air box, which has improved the low-end power delivery and torque. Although the power figures are unaltered.

Moving on, it now gets a revised geometry for the rider. The gearshift actuator has been redesigned for better legroom, and the 6.3-inch TFT display is aligned vertically for a better view angle.

The new model also gets the new Yamaha Chip Control Throttle (YCCT), which allows the rider to opt between two power modes: Sport and Explorer. The new six-axis IMU now offers slide control, brake control, cornering ABS, and more features. Moreover, it has an ABS toggle switch to turn off either wheel or both during off-roading.

To improve the total range and mass centralisation, it now gets 23 litres dual fuel tanks, which are 1.5 kg lighter. Moreover, the fully-adjustable KYB suspension is now loaded with Kashima coating on the front for reduced friction, while the rear monoshock gets 5mm more travel.

Yamaha has also improved the subframe of the bike by strengthening it so that it can easily accommodate heavy luggage without breaking – a previously known issue on the bike. Customers can also opt for 60 touring accessories to further modify their bikes.

With that said, the Tenere 700 is not coming to India. Well, as far as we know. But hope never dies, and we firmly believe that Yamaha will find a surprising number of buyers for the Tenere nameplate in India, if it ever gets launched.
