Key highlights
- Kia Telluride’s next-generation model is making a formal debut scheduled for November 20 2025.
- The teaser images reveal a familiar silhouette refined with sharper design cues and signature vertical amber lighting.
- Expect the 2027 Telluride to carry over key mechanics from its sibling Hyundai Palisade, including hybrid powertrain options.
The Telluride has always been one of Kia’s best-loved SUVs, a strong three-row player with a rugged vibe and family-friendly credentials. Now the Korean automaker is reading its cues carefully and getting ready to up the ante. With the full reveal scheduled for late November at the L.A. Auto Show, Kia has teased us with just enough to say: “Something big is coming.”
From the images released so far, the new Telluride retains its upright, confident stance, but the design language has evolved. The fenders are sharper, lines are cleaner, and characters like the vertical “Star Map” amber DRLs give it a fresh visual identity while staying true to what made the original appealing.
What the teaser tells us
Even though much is still under wraps, several key points stand out:
- The body appears to have grown in size slightly, echoing the pattern set by the Palisade’s recent update. That means more space, especially for row-three occupants.
- A hybrid powertrain looks likely. The Palisade’s turbo-plus-electric setup (329 hp and 339 lb-ft) seems like a strong candidate for the Telluride, especially with Kia signalling a move in that direction.
- The styling has been dialled up without losing its identity. The Telluride still looks big, protective, and capable, but the finer lines give it a touch of sophistication.
Why It matters for India and beyond
While the Telluride isn’t currently part of Kia’s Indian line-up, its global evolution matters nonetheless. SUVs like this set the benchmark for three-row comfort, tech levels and design cues. If Kia follows its usual pattern, several lessons learned on this platform could trickle down to regional models, which means increased expectations for Indian buyers.
In other words, the 2027 Telluride isn’t just a big SUV in the U.S.; it may well set standards for what families around the globe (including India) will expect from the next generation of premium three-rows.
Our Thoughts
The Telluride’s next act looks promising. Kia has taken an already successful formula and sharpened it with more style, more tech, maybe more efficiency. There’s something quietly exciting about this: a vehicle designed to carry families, gear, maybe even dreams, and do so with purpose and panache.
