Tata Sierra becomes an instant hit – What makes it popular?
The commencement of the pre-bookings of the new Sierra has created a new record for the brand. Tata has received 70,000 bookings for the Sierra within the first 24 hours of the booking commencement.
Not just that, but the brand has also announced that 1.35 lakh customers have already submitted their preferences for the trims and options, and are underway with the booking process.
Mind you, Sierra is the latest mid-size premium SUV of Tata that was launched at a starting price of Rs 11.49 lakh, while the top variant has been positioned at Rs 21.29 lakh (ex-showroom). It competes with the popular rivals like the Hyundai Creta, Maruti Victoris, and the new-gen Kia Seltos.
One of the primary factors behind this instant success is Tata’s marketing. Secondly, the brand awareness and the nostalgia factor for the Sierra nameplate is already attracting customers from all age groups.
The Sierra is the biggest car in its segment. It has a massive boot space of 622 litres, and the boxy design holds the futuristic components like the smart LED connected lights.
Tata has also introduced its first-ever petrol engine for the mid-size SUVs. The Sierra is available with a 1.5-litre naturally-aspirated petrol, a 1.5-litre turbo TGDI petrol, and the 1.5-litre turbo-diesel engine options.
Additionally, Tata has announced that an AWD version and an EV iteration are also on the cards. The official deliveries of the Sierra will commence from January 15, 2025.
