2025 Maruti Grand Vitara S-CNG launched with Six Airbags

Key highlights

  • 2025 Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara S-CNG now comes with six airbags as standard
  • Features include ventilated seats, wireless charging, premium audio by Clarion
  • Starts at INR 13.48 lakh (ex-showroom); fuel efficiency rated at 26.6 km/kg

Maruti Suzuki has upgraded the 2025 Grand Vitara S-CNG with enhanced safety and comfort features. The updated SUV is now available in Delta and Zeta trims, priced at INR 13.48 lakh and INR 15.62 lakh respectively (ex-showroom, Delhi). Both variants now come with six airbags as standard—a first for any CNG SUV in the brand’s portfolio.

Safety First: Six airbags now standard

In addition to the six airbags, the Grand Vitara S-CNG comes equipped with ESP with Hill Hold Assist, ABS with EBD, front and rear disc brakes, ISOFIX mounts, and more. These additions help the Grand Vitara stay competitive in a segment where safety is increasingly under scrutiny.

Packed with premium features

Maruti Suzuki has also added several upmarket features to the 2025 model. Highlights include ventilated front seats, a wireless charging dock, rear door sunshades, and an auto air purifier with a PM2.5 display. The infotainment unit is a 9-inch SmartPlay Pro+ touchscreen with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. A Clarion-tuned premium sound system elevates the cabin experience, while features like auto-folding ORVMs and reclining rear seats add practicality.

Efficient yet versatile powertrain

The Grand Vitara S-CNG continues with the brand’s 1.5-litre K-series Dual Jet, Dual VVT engine. In CNG mode, it produces 87.8 PS and 121.5 Nm of torque, offering a claimed fuel economy of 26.6 km/kg. While performance isn’t groundbreaking, it is adequate for daily city commutes and occasional highway runs.

Competitors & segment relevance

With these updates, the Grand Vitara S-CNG now goes head-to-head with the Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder CNG, which shares its underpinnings. While the Hyryder also offers similar features, Maruti’s wider service network and marginally lower price tag may tilt the scales in its favour.
