Chery Tiggo 8: Everything you need to know
The Tiggo 8 SUV design patent has been filed in India. The recently leaked photos online show the international-spec car’s design, which could possibly be aligned for the Indian debut sometime next year.
Although there has not been any news breakout till now, it is unclear whether Chery is interested in the Indian market or not. But this latest design patent clears the fog around the uncertainty.
Speaking of the Tiggo 8, it is a mid-size SUV that competes with the Hyundai Tucson in the international markets, including China and the Middle East. The tall-boy design is mated to a big front grille, LED lights, and chrome highlights, for an exclusive and luxurious feel.
On the inside, the Tiggo 8 features a 15.6-inch rotating infotainment screen, a digital instrument console, a 12-speaker music system, wireless charging, panoramic sunroof, electric seats with ventilation, electric tailgate, ambient lights, HUD, and more.
The Tiggo 8 also comes equipped with standard 9 airbags and a Level 2 ADAS safety suite that has 19 autonomous safety features.
Powering the Tiggo 8 is a 2.0-litre, four-cylinder, turbo-petrol engine. It is mated to a 7-speed DCT automatic gearbox and a FWD drivetrain, which offers 241 bhp and 390 Nm of peak power and torque.
As of now, the exact launch timeline of the Chery Tiggo 8 in India is unknown. If the Tiggo 8 is launched via CKD route, it will be positioned in the ballpark of Rs 25-30 lakh.
