Design

BMW F 450 GS

The new F 450 GS will serve as the new entry point for BMW’s adventure bike range. Based on an all-new steel trellis frame, the F 450 GS takes its design inspiration from the bigger 1300 GS ADV.

It features a tall front design and an upright riding posture, along with relaxed ergonomics. The frame incorporates the engine and has a semi-naked design, which is matched with the exciting dual-tone and multi-colour paint schemes.

BMW will sell the F 450 GS in four variants globally: Basic, Exclusive, Sport, and Trophy. As their names suggest, these variants will differ from each other in terms of features and hardware specs. The top-spec Trophy version has already been revealed with cross-spoke block-pattern tubeless tyres.

Features

BMW F 450 GS specifications revealed ahead of India launch

The F 450 GS is packed with modern features. Despite being the entry-level ADV, it is an important bike for BMW as it will compete with the well-equipped rivals like the CFMoto 450 ADV.

The bike gets the X-shaped DRLs and dual-projector LED headlights. Moreover, it has a sleek LED taillight and turn indicators embedded in the slim tail section. It also features a 6.5-inch TFT console with Bluetooth connectivity and BMW’s app-supported navigation system.

You also get the adjustable levers, along with the heated grips, as an optional accessory. Even the foot brake lever and gearshift lever are adjustable to attain a relaxed and confident riding posture for the rider.

BMW will also offer a long list of accessories to further customise the bike. These include the different windscreen options, handlebar risers, luggage panniers and top boxes, multiple seat options (rally seat, low seat), and protection accessories like knuckle guards and aluminium bash plate.

Engine specs

BMW F 450 GS

Powering the F 450 GS is an all-new 420cc parallel-twin liquid-cooled engine. This powerhouse is said to be developed with the help of TVS, and it generates 48 bhp and 43 Nm of power and torque.

It is paired with a 6-speed transmission with a slipper clutch and an optional quickshifter. The F 450 GS also gets a stainless steel, two-in-one exhaust system with twin catalytic converters embedded inside it.

The interesting part is that the F 450 GS weighs only 178 kg, which indicates that the performance stats will be eyebrow-raising in the real world.

Hardware

BMW F 450 GS

The F 450 GS is a well-packed motorcycle with premium parts. It uses KYB USD front forks and a preload-cum-rebound adjustable KYB rear monoshock.

Additionally, the braking duties are done by Brembo brake calipers at the front and Bybre calipers at the rear. Although it has single disc rotors on both ends. Moreover, it is loaded with the BMW Dynamic Brake Control and Dynamic Brake Light features with the BMW Motorrad ABS Pro (dual-channel ABS).

While the base version will be offered with the 19-inch front and 17-inch rear alloy wheels, the Trophy version will come equipped with the cross-spoke block-pattern tubeless tyres with a 19-inch front and a 17-inch rear. Customers can opt for the cross-spoke tubeless tyres for the lower variants.

India launch and price

BMW Motorrad is expected to launch the F 450 GS in Europe early next year. Since it will be manufactured at the TVS plant near Hosur, the F 450 GS will be available in India by the end of 2026.

We assume that it will be positioned above Rs 4.5 lakh as it falls in the premium category.
