Italjet Roadster 400 debuts at EICMA

Italjet has officially launched the Roadster 400 at EICMA 2025, and let’s be honest, it’s barely a scooter. This thing looks like it rolled off a MotoGP pit lane and accidentally wandered into the urban commuter segment. With Ohlins suspension, twin Akrapovic pipes, and Nissin brakes, the Roadster 400 is unapologetically high-spec and gloriously unconventional.

Powertrain

The Bologna-based brand is known for pushing boundaries, and the Roadster 400 is no exception. It’s powered by a 394cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine, delivering 41.5 bhp at 7,500 rpm and 30.3 lb-ft of torque at 6,000 rpm. That’s serious grunt for something that still technically qualifies as a scooter.

Design

Italjet calls the Roadster “Art in Motion”. The bodywork draws inspiration from classic silhouettes and fighter jets, with sculpted side panels that mimic turbine intakes. These aren’t just for show, they channel air to twin radiators tucked inside the frame.

The paint scheme is a mix of matte black and bronze, with red accents and multi-textured seat upholstery. CNC-machined lever guards with integrated LED indicators add to the premium feel. Even the billet aluminum wheels hide behind oversized brake discs, giving the Roadster a muscular stance.

DLAS Steering and Chassis

The Roadster 400 debuts Italjet’s new DLAS (Dynamic Linkage Articulated Steering) system. It’s an evolution of the brand’s iconic single-arm setup, designed to improve precision and visual impact. The front end houses twin Nissin calipers, while the rear swingarm and linkages have been completely reworked.

Suspension duties are handled by Ohlins shocks, mounted in typically Italjet fashion—unusual, but effective. The exhaust headers split and disappear into the bodywork before re-emerging as twin Akrapovic mufflers behind the seat. It’s all very dramatic, and very Italian.

Availability and Pricing

The Roadster 400 will be available globally from September 2026, with an estimated price of €7,500 (around INR 6.7 lakh).
