2026 Renault Duster and Nissan Tekton – What do we know so far?
The new-gen Duster and the upcoming Nissan Tekton were spotted in Chennai traffic recently with complete camouflage. Both SUVs are based on the same Nissan-Renault CMF-B platform, which has been designed to support various engine and powertrain options, including the hybrid, AWD, and even LPG.
While Renault is ready to launch the new-gen Duster on January 26, the Tekton is still months away from its India debut. The spy shots show that both models will bear a completely different outlook, where the Duster gets a rugged bodywork with big claddings and Y-shaped lights, and the Tekton has a more streamlined design with sleek lighting.
On the inside, both SUVs will remain differentiated by the different cabin themes, steering designs, and upholstery options. However, the feature list is likely to be more or less the same on both cars.
Powering these SUVs in India will be a mild-hybrid 1.3-litre turbo petrol engine that is likely to be offered with an AWD option as well. This engine will come mated to the manual and automatic transmission options.
Both SUVs are likely to be priced around Rs 11-18 lakh, competing with the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, and the Tata Sierra.
