The updated Atto 3 not only adds the Evo suffix to its name, but also brings interesting changes to its electric architecture. Launched in Europe as of now, the new Atto 3 Evo features a bigger 74.8 kWh battery pack. This makes it 14.3 kWh bigger than the previous version.

With the improved battery size, the new Atto 3 Evo also gets an 800V architecture, as opposed to the 400V earlier. With these specs, it is now able to offer 510 km WLTP-claimed range – 62 km more than the previous version.

The new Atto 3 Evo uses a rear-mounted electric motor, as opposed to the front-mounted motor on the previous iteration. With this structural change, it now offers 309 bhp and 380 Nm of power and torque – 108 bhp more than the previous iteration. The single motor version can sprint 0-100 km/h in 5.5 seconds and offer 180 km/h of top speed.

There is an AWD version as well, which uses a dual-motor configuration, offering better performance. The AWD Atto 3 Evo can sprint 0-100 km/h in 3.9 seconds and gets a top speed of 200 km/h. This version offers 443 bhp of power and 530 Nm of torque.

With these changes, the charging capability has also improved on the Atto 3 Evo. It can now juice up 10-80% in just 25 minutes, as opposed to the earlier time of 29 minutes for 30-80%.

BYD has not made any changes to its exterior design or interior features, save for the Euro-spec wheels and a new dual-tone cabin theme. The updated Atto 3 Evo is soon likely to go on sale in Europe, and we expect it to be launched in India by the second half of this year.
