Everything to know about the KTM 990 RC R Track
The new 990 RC R Track is based on the standard 990 RC motorcycle. However, KTM has made substantial upgrades to it that make it track-focused and non-road-legal.
For beginners, it gets a new race fairing with a taller windscreen sourced from the RC16 motorcycle. The absence of lights clearly indicates its track-only purpose. KTM has painted it in a beautiful white and orange livery.
Moreover, it gets the same 947cc parallel-twin liquid-cooled engine as the standard bike, but the power has been slightly bumped to 135 bhp and 105 Nm. It also uses a race gearbox with a longer first gear ratio and a short sixth gear. Meanwhile, the 3 kg Akrapovic Evolution Line exhaust offers a free-flow performance.
Other upgrades include the fully adjustable race suspension sourced from WP Apex for both ends. Since it is a track machine, it is equipped with the Michelin Power Slick tyres for extreme grip.
The braking system has been upgraded as well, with the Brembo Hypure brake callipers with a twin 320 mm front disc and a 240 mm rear disc. Mind you, it does not get an ABS unit.
KTM has also shed 2 kg from the new race electronics package, which helps in improving the agility of the bike. Moreover, it gets multiple electronic features like anti-wheelie control, track modes, throttle response adjustment, wheel slip control, engine brake control, and more, for better performance.
KTM will start delivering the 990 RC R Track in the international market from April 2026. The race bike will come with a paddock stand and a wet-weather strobe brake light as standard.
