Wuling Starlight 560: Everything we know so far
The upcoming Starlight 560 three-row SUV has already been spotted testing in India. It will be sold via JSW MG with a new name and identity, along with a few cosmetic changes.
Ahead of the official launch in the coming months, it has been homologated in India. The Starlight 560 boasts a boxy design, and it is likely to be positioned against the Mahindra XUV7XO.
On the outside, it features sharp dual LED DRL headlights, R18 dual-tone alloy wheels, functional roof rails, and an MPV-ish rear design with subtle LED taillights. It measures 4.75m in length, and it has 2.81m of wheelbase, offering a spacious cabin.
On the inside, it features a minimalist design with upmarket finishing, including features like leather upholstery, a two-spoke steering wheel, a 3.5-inch digital instrument console, and a free-standing 12.8-inch infotainment screen offering wireless Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, HVAC controls, drive modes, and more.
In some variants, the Starlight 560 features the gearshift lever on the steering column, thus freeing space on the centre console for storage and a wireless charging pad.
Powering the Starlight 560 internationally is a 1.5-litre four-cylinder petrol engine coupled with a 20.5kWh LFP battery pack. This plug-in hybrid engine is likely to be launched in India, and it will likely offer 800km or more range on a full tank of fuel.
Wuling also offers the Starlight 560 in EV avatar. It shares the 56.7kWh battery pack with the MG Windsor, offering 134 bhp and 500km CLTC-approved range.
The Starlight 560 SUV will be launched in the coming months, and it is expected to be priced around Rs 20 lakh.
