Everything to know about the new KTM RC 450

KTM RC 450

The all-new RC 450 has been specifically developed by the KTM-CFMoto partnership. It uses the CFMoto 450SR’s 450cc, parallel-twin, liquid-cooled, 270-degree crankcase engine, which offers a whopping 56 bhp and 39 Nm, mated to a 6-speed transmission with slipper clutch and a load-sensitive quickshifter.

This new engine not only offers a promising performance on paper, but it can also get the RC 450 to a top speed of 195 km/h, and that too without any performance modes. Moreover, the new RC 450 packs an all-new aggressive design that has a single LED headlamp and winglets on the front fairing, aiding its performance and visual appeal.

The new RC 450 is suspended on the adjustable WP Apex USD front forks and a rear monoshock suspension, while it rides on the 17-inch lightweight alloy wheels. Revealed in the iconic KTM Orange colour, the RC 450 comes equipped with a smart TFT console that offers smartphone connectivity, ride modes, traction modes, and features like cornering ABS, etc.

Ironically, this powerful RC 450 is not coming to India. Why? It is because KTM is developing an all-new 450cc parallel-twin engine for the Indian and other global markets. This new engine will house the future models, like the 450 Duke and Adventure.

The Chinese-spec RC 450 has been priced around Rs 4.70 lakh, while the Indian-spec 450 is likely to arrive next year, and it will be priced around Rs 4-4.25 lakh mark.
