Volkswagen Taigun facelift: Everything we know so far
The new Taigun facelift was recently spotted in Pune in a left-hand drive avatar. The red-coloured car seen here is a production variant, and it has mild exterior changes.
The front fascia gets the new, sharp LED projector headlights with a connected LED lightbar on the new front grille. Moreover, the front bumper is also redesigned with better air flow, new black highlights, and new LED foglights.
The side profile is more or less the same as before, save for the new 17-inch alloy wheels, the latter of which is in black shade as it is a GT-Line variant. Meanwhile, the rear gets a set of new LED taillights submerged in a smoked-out setup. The rear also features a redesigned bumper with a streamlined design.
Two major missings on the spotted car are the ADAS module and the 360-degree camera. Not long ago, VW-Skoda launched the new Kushaq facelift, and it also missed out on these safety equipment, citing that the current platform has not been designed to support it.
Meanwhile, under the bonnet, it will feature a new 8-speed AISIN-sourced torque converter automatic gearbox, which will replace the current 6-speed automatic transmission on the 1.0 TSI engine. On the other hand, the 1.5 TSI engine will continue to be offered with the 7-speed DSG gearbox.
Other changes are likely to include new features, such as a panoramic sunroof, ambient lights, front ventilated seats with electric adjustment, massaging seats, a bigger infotainment console, a larger digital instrument cluster, and more.
Volkswagen will launch the new Taigun facelift on April 9, and we believe that its pricing will also undergo a slight hike.
