What to expect from the BMW iX3 long wheelbase?
BMW has announced that it is developing a long wheelbase version of the iX3 electric SUV, which made its debut last year with the Neue Klasse design philosophy. This LWB version will be initially launched in China, and later it will debut in India as well.
Speaking of the changes as compared to the standard iX3, it will be 108 mm longer, which will increase the space and comfort for the rear passengers. However, its exterior and interior design is likely to be more or less the same as the standard iX3, save for the new 22-inch alloy wheels and distinctive colour options.
Since the long wheelbase versions target chauffeur-driven customers, BMW is expected to equip the iX3 LWB with advanced features for the rear passengers, including individual entertainment screens, extended leg support, better seat bolstering, and more.
Powering the iX3 LWB will be the same battery and drivetrain as the standard model. The 108.7 kWh battery and the 800V architecture will remain as they are on the LWB. It will feature the dual-motor setup as standard, offering 469 bhp and 645 Nm. It is expected to offer a claimed range of more than 800 km.
BMW is planning to launch the new X5, iX1, and the new 7 series in the coming months internationally. All these models will follow the iX3 in India, which will debut in 2027. The expected price of the iX3 LWB is around Rs 1 crore.
