Suzuki Jimny Rhino edition with ADAS launched

Key Highlights

  • Suzuki has launched two new Jimny variants in Malaysia: the Allgrip Plus and Rhino Plus.
  • Both are 3-door variants with comprehensive ADAS.
  • The India-spec 5-door Jimny currently has no ADAS.

Suzuki is adding ADAS to the Jimny. Not in India, at least not yet. But Malaysia just got two new Jimny variants packed with safety technology, and the India-spec model is starting to look increasingly dated by comparison.

Suzuki has launched the Jimny Allgrip Plus and Jimny Rhino Plus in Malaysia. Both are 3-door models. Both get a significant safety and feature upgrade over the standard Jimny.

What the Rhino Plus Gets

The Rhino Plus is the more interesting of the two. It sits at the top of the Malaysian Jimny lineup at RM 1,73,900, or approximately Rs 40.80 lakh at current exchange rates. The Malaysia pricing is high because the Jimny is imported there.

The ADAS suite is comprehensive. It includes Dual Sensor Brake Support II with stereo cameras and millimetre-wave radar, lane departure warning and prevention, adaptive cruise control, automatic high beam, weaving alert, and a reverse camera with radar assistance. Six airbags are standard. Emergency stop signal is included too.

On the features side, the Rhino Plus gets a 9-inch touchscreen with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, electrically foldable and heated side mirrors, front and rear parking sensors with clearance sonar, and a USB-C port.

The Allgrip Plus is priced at RM 1,58,900 and carries the same ADAS suite, with a slightly simpler trim level.

The India Question

The India-spec Jimny currently lacks ADAS systems. The Mahindra Thar Roxx, its most direct rival, already offers Level 2 ADAS alongside a longer feature list. That gap is hurting the Jimny in showrooms.

The Jimny Nomade, which is made in India and sold in Japan, has already received ADAS as part of the 2026 model year upgrade. That means the hardware and engineering work is done. Whether Maruti Suzuki brings the same to the India-spec 5-door Jimny is a business decision, not a technical one.

Maruti Suzuki has not confirmed a timeline. But the pressure is building from all sides. A Jimny facelift with ADAS for India is looking increasingly like a matter of when, not if.
