Yamaha NMax 155 could come to India by 2027

Key Highlights

  • Yamaha Motor India is actively working to bring the NMax 155 to India by 2027
  • The NMax is the more practical, comfort-focused alternative to the sporty Aerox.
  • Expected price is Rs 1.60 lakh to Rs 1.70 lakh (ex-showroom).

Yamaha Motor India is actively working to bring the NMax 155 to India by 2027. A second half of 2026 launch is also being reported by some outlets, which means it could arrive even sooner than the headline suggests.

What Is the NMax 155

The NMax 155 is Yamaha’s practical, touring-focused maxi-scooter. It has been on sale in Southeast Asia and Europe for years and is one of Yamaha’s best-selling scooters globally. Think of it as the Aerox’s more grown-up sibling.

Under the expansive bodywork, the NMax and Aerox are mechanically very similar. Both use a 155cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine making 15 hp at 8,000 rpm and 14 Nm at 6,500 rpm. The NMax, however, is aimed at a completely different kind of rider. Where the Aerox is sporty and aggressive, the NMax is upright, comfortable, and practical.

The NMax gets a large under-seat storage area, a full digital instrument console, Bluetooth connectivity via Yamaha’s Y-Connect app, dual-channel ABS, and LED lighting. The 2026 European update introduced a revised transmission called YECVT, which mimics the feel of downshifting for a more engaging ride. Whether that version comes to India is unconfirmed.

How It Compares

When Yamaha brought the Aerox 155 to India five years ago, it went against the odds and carved out a niche. Even today, it continues to sell in good numbers. The NMax is expected to find a similar audience, perhaps broader, given its more versatile character.
