Toyota is gearing up to launch the new-gen Hilux in India. Online reports claim that Toyota will launch the new-gen Hilux with big changes to its exterior and interior, along with new features like ADAS and more.
The current generation Hilux has been doing well in terms of sales, and the decision to bring in the new-gen model seems right at the moment. The updated Hilux went on sale globally last year with new updates.
On the outside, it will pack a new rugged-modern fascia with sleek LED headlights, a honeycomb grille embedded in the front bumper, aero dams on the extreme sides of the bumper, rugged body cladding, new dual-tone alloys, and a new tail section with redesigned LED taillights.
Meanwhile, the cabin of the new Hilux will offer a bigger update in terms of feel. The cabin has been completely redesigned with the new dashboard, a new steering wheel, a new 12.3-inch digital instrument console, and a floating 12.3-inch infotainment screen. The new features include a wireless charging pad, Level 2 ADAS, leather upholstery, ventilated front seats with electric adjustment, and more.
Under the bonnet, the new Hilux is supposed to offer the same engine as the current model. It is likely to get the 2.8-litre turbo diesel engine with 48V mild-hybrid tech. The 4X4 drivetrain will remain standard, and Toyota will offer it with a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed AT gearbox.
The exact launch date is yet to be revealed, but the launch will take place in July 2026. The new updates are most likely to increase the prices of the Hilux in India, and we are not sure whether Toyota will keep selling the current model alongside the new Hilux or whether it will discontinue it.
