BYD has introduced a new Comfort variant for the eMAX 7 electric MPV in India. Priced at Rs 27.90 lakh (ex-showroom) for the 6-seater version and Rs 28.30 lakh (ex-showroom) for the 7-seater version, the new Comfort trim also features a new battery pack and more features than the base ‘Premium’ variant.
What is new on the BYD eMAX 7 Comfort variant?
The new eMAX 7 Comfort variant has been positioned between the base-spec Premium trim and the range-topping Superior trim. The Comfort variant focuses on more affordable features and more range, as it gets a bigger battery pack and more features compared to the base model.
The key factor differentiating the Comfort variant from the Premium is its 71.8 kWh battery pack that offers an MIDC-claimed range of 485 km. It is a front-wheel drive variant and offers 161 bhp and 310 Nm of power and torque. It also supports 115 kW DC charging.
In terms of features, the Comfort variant loses out on the Level 2 ADAS, panoramic sunroof, automatic headlights, frameless wipers, and electric tailgate as compared to the range-topping Superior trim.
With that said, the Comfort variant brings the same design, interior layout, dimensions, and basic features as the rest of the lineup. Additionally, BYD India has also revised the prices of the eMAX 7. The new 2026 eMAX 7 is now pricier by up to Rs 1 lakh, while the 7-seater version is pricier by up to Rs 80,000.
The main reason behind the price hike, as cited by the company, is the consistent rise in input costs and the weakening of the Indian currency in foreign exchange rates. The new Comfort variant of the eMAX 7 EV is now available pan-India. Its deliveries are expected to commence shortly.
