Kawasaki has launched the 2027 Versys 650 adventure-tourer motorcycle in India. The MY27 Versys 650 comes with a new colour scheme called Candy Lime Green. This new colour replaces the outgoing Metallic Grey colour option of the 2026 model.
Apart from the new colourway, there have been no other changes made to the motorcycle. The new Versys 650 gets a black headlight cowl with dual-pod LED headlights that are inspired by the Versys 1100.
Meanwhile, the front fender, side fairing, and fuel tank feature the trademark Lime Green colour. Lime Green patterns can also be seen on the tail section. The rest of the motorcycle uses black contrasts, including the engine components and alloy wheels. The exhaust is finished in brushed aluminium.
In terms of the styling, the bike features an upright riding stance with mid-set controls for a comfortable touring position for the rider. The long-travel USD front suspension offers a plush ride, while the rear monoshock features preload adjustment to tune it as per the rider’s preference.
Kawasaki has also loaded the Versys 650 with modern features. The bike features complete LED lighting, along with an adjustable windscreen, a coloured TFT instrument console with Bluetooth smartphone connectivity, turn-by-turn navigation support, SMS/call alerts, etc. It also features Kawasaki Traction Control (KTC) with various levels. Other features include ride-by-wire and a dual-channel ABS.
Powering the Versys 650 is the tried-and-tested 649cc parallel-twin liquid-cooled engine. This motor makes 66 bhp and 61 Nm of peak power and torque, and it is paired with a six-speed gearbox.
With that said, the new Versys now costs Rs 8.63 lakh (ex-showroom), which is definitely steep for a 650cc motorcycle. However, given the type of comfort and features it offers for long-distance touring, the Versys 650 is a perfect choice for a relaxed highway touring bike under Rs 10 lakh.
